ALEXANDER OWUSU, the communications officer for the Ejisu constituency has rubbished rumours that NPP members in the party have demanded for fresh polling station elections.
He noted that those peddling such information are only seeking to stoke fire in the peaceful constituency.
He stated that the recently held press conference by the group named Independent Patriotic Movement sought to seek their parochial interests since their membership was made up of past polling station executives.
The Communications officer stated their claims that a new and fresh polling station elections should be held was hollow and without substance since the constituency in a legal manner has gone past that stage of electing members who form the base of the party.
This portal presents to you the full statement from the Communications officer in reaction to the claims that fresh polling station elections should be held in Ejisu.
No Member Has Called For Fresh Polling Station Elections:
Our attention has been drawn to an ill calculated attempt to stir up confusion in Ejisu Constituency in a bid to push the parochial and selfish interest of people who do not care about the party in the constituency.
In a press statement issued by a group calling itself the “Independent Patriotic Movement.. IPM” it alleges that NPP members In Ejisu are demanding for fresh polling station, coordinators and constituency elections. However we noticed that the signatories to the statement are individuals who no longer serve as constituency executives of the party but are pretending to be holders of positions they haven’t been elected to hold.
This is fraudulent and a scam. Various legal actions are being explored to address this matter.
We will also like to remind the imposters that the New Patriotic Party rules and regulations are clear on people like them who seek to break away from the party and will like to caution them to desist further or risk incurring the wrath of the law.
Our investigation so far shows that these allegations are at the request of a former Member of Parliament of the constituency who wants to set the tone to run as independent candidate and so has resorted to lies and propaganda to whip up public sentients.
We will like to call on all New Patriotic Party faithfuls in the constituency and beyond to ignore their rants and claims as the party in the constituency is united.
NPP in Ejisu does not belong to one person and as duly elected and sworn in executives we will work hard for the party, to ensure that we deliver victory in the parliamentary and presidential elections.
Signed
EJISU Constituency Communication Officer
Alexander Owusu
