The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), has unanimously set aside its decision of November 30, 2024, to dismiss two of its members.

In a formal notice dated September 29, 2026, and signed by the Ag. President, Mr. Samuel Antwi, the Association, announced the reinstatement of Mr. Emmanuel Acquah and Mr. Ernest Tagoe, who until their dismissal were Acting 1st National Trustee and Acting National Treasurer, respectively.

The officers, who many described as diligent, had described their dismissal as a travesty of justice, stating it was done without merit and in violation of natural justice.

Their dismissal letters were signed by the erstwhile Ag. President, Mr. Emmanuel Otoo, whose locus they had challenged in a 2024 petition to the NEC.

Consequently, they sought justice in court, and the case is still pending.

In an attempt to end the legal tussle and save the resources of the Association, the NEC deemed it prudent at a Zoom meeting held on September 29, 2026, to reverse the dismissal decision and reinstate them.

The letter clarified that their membership of CLOGSAG is now unbroken subject to the Constitution, with all rights and responsibilities restored.

The development is seen as a step towards unity and reconciliation within the Association, which operates under the motto “Unity and Equal Rights”.”

In an exclusive interview, the reinstated officers expressed delight that justice had prevailed and thanked the NEC for its decision.
