The Western Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bonzo Kay, has commended the leadership and performance of the party’s incumbent General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), citing his growth, administrative reforms, and dedication to position the party for victory in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking during JFK’s campaign tour of the Western Region ahead of the NPP’s National Executive Elections scheduled for October 3 in Kumasi, Mr. Kay expressed confidence in the General Secretary’s track record since taking office in 2022.

Vote of Confidence:

Reflecting on his early support for the General Secretary, Mr. Kay highlighted how JFK has matured in the role despite initial skepticism.

“I was the first District Chief Executive (DCE) to endorse JFK in 2022, despite the formidable odds against him”, Mr Kay disclosed.

He added that, “listening to him today, I am deeply impressed to testify that he has truly mastered the demands of the job to lead us to victory in 2028”.

He urged Western Regional delegates to vote overwhelmingly for JFK, arguing that the incumbent’s clear vision and organizational reforms have reinvigorated the party’s base.

According to Mr. Kay, internal restructuring under JFK’s tenure has successfully re-engaged alienated members and restored enthusiasm across the rank and file.

Grassroots Engagement:

Addressing the delegates, Justin Frimpong Kodua emphasized that rebuilding strong grassroots activism remains the cornerstone of the party’s strategy to secure power in 2028.

JFK explained that key reforms during his tenure focused on reintegrating former Member of Parliaments (MPs), Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), and veteran party stalwarts back into active service.

Leveraging their experience, he noted, is vital for winning over the Ghanaian electorate.

“I led the reforms that are turning our political fortunes around,” JFK told the delegates.

He added that ,”We will jealously guard this unified strategy to recapture power. All I ask is a second term in office so we can complete the vital restructuring efforts we have begun.”
