CHIEFTAINS SPEAK, THEIR PEOPLE LISTEN AS OPEMSUO MEDIA PROMOTES TRADITIONAL LEADERSHIP IN ASANTEMAN THROUGH BROADCAST PROGRAMME

2 Minutes

‘Nananom Mmere’, to wit, ‘Time with Chiefs’, is a well-thought-out programme to be aired on Opemsuo Radio 104.7 FM and Opemsuo TV at the Manhyia Palace. It will be telecast live on all social media handles of Opemsuo Media.

The programme starts at 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each Sunday and will be hosted by an enterprising broadcast journalist and 2017/2018 Ashanti Regional Best Male Akan Newscaster, Kwame Awuah Nimfour, with over two decades of experience.

‘Nananom Mmere’, a purely Asante Twi programme, seeks to promote the Asante Kingdom in particular and to educate the younger generation about the ins and outs of chieftaincy, tradition and culture.

It will also focus on individual chiefs, their history and achievements since ascending their stools.

The singular contribution of chiefs to shaping society will also come to light during the programme, while they will have the opportunity to share their vision, woo investors and solicit support from their subjects.

Listeners will learn about towns, communities and their traditional leadership, and they will be able to share their thoughts and ideas to help preserve, protect and promote Asante culture and tradition.

As the maiden edition starts on Sunday, November 1, 2026, stakes are very high as every Asante, both in and outside Ghana, waits anxiously for a novel and unprecedented radio/TV programme to be aired across social media.

Obviously, Opemsuo Radio’s affiliate community information centres within the Asante Kingdom will broadcast the show.

Students and researchers will also take advantage of the programme to take notes, update and authenticate their academic work.

All hail Opemsuo Media for yet another giant step towards promoting the Asante Kingdom through the magic of traditional and social media.

Opemsuo, yɛresom Asanteman!, as their mantra goes.
