The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced key directives to guide its Parliamentary Candidate selection process ahead of the next general elections.
The guidelines were announced by the General Secretary of the party, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, during a press briefing.
According to the General Secretary, all prospective parliamentary candidates seeking to contest on the ticket of the party must strictly comply with the stated directives.
Lawyer Kodua Frimpong disclosed that the party will open its online expression of interest portal from 1st to 10th November 2026.
Within that period, he added that, all interested persons are required to complete the prescribed form through the party’s official portal at http://ppc.nppghana.org, with an application fee of GH₵5,000.
He further indicated that all prospective candidates will be subjected to a mandatory vetting and screening exercise to determine their eligibility in line with the party’s requirements.
As part of efforts to adequately equip aspirants, the party will also organize capacity-building workshops in December 2026 for prospective candidates across three designated zones, namely Northern, Middle and Southern.
The General Secretary stressed that incumbent Members of Parliament are not exempt from the process, noting that every prospective candidate will be required to go through the same procedures.
On campaigning, Lawyer Kodua Frimpong reiterated that expression of interest does not constitute authorization to begin campaign activities.
He emphasized that the party’s earlier directive suspending all campaign activities remains strictly in force until official clearance is granted.
He explained that the structured selection process is intended to promote fairness, transparency, discipline and equal opportunity for all prospective parliamentary candidates.
Lawyer Kodua Frimpong concluded by cautioning that the party’s directives must be strictly observed by all prospective candidates.
