Priority projects, including sanitation management, education, road rehabilitation, and social infrastructure, will dominate the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s agenda for 2027, as contained in its newly approved Action Plan.

The Action Plan, presented by Mr. Charles Kwesi Adjei was approved alongside the Fee Fixing Resolution and Composite Budget at a Special General Assembly Meeting held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Prempeh Assembly Hall.

The meeting brought together Assembly Members, Heads of Departments, and key officers of the Assembly and was marked by extensive and critical deliberations to ensure the proposals reflect the developmental aspirations of the metropolis.

The Principal Budget Analyst, Mr. Eric Nunoo, who presented the Fee Fixing Resolution, explained that it provides the legal framework for collecting rates, fees, and licenses, while the Composite Budget captures the Assembly’s projectand expenditure.

After hours of thorough engagement, the General Assembly unanimously approved the three documents for implementation in 2027.

The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi commended members for their commitment and assured them that management would ensure prudent use of resources and full implementation to accelerate development.

The Metro Coordinating Director, Mr. Francis Dwira Darko noted that the documents were prepared in line with guidelines from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs after inclusive stakeholder consultations.

The Presiding Member, Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong praised the democratic debate as a sign of accountability and transparency and urged members to support revenue collection when the resolution takes effect.
