Story:
THE RULING New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been told to jealously protect the peace and unity in the party to help retain political power in 2024.
Giving the advice, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the MP for Manhyia South in Kumasi, stated that the NPP cannot be defeated when they are united.
In this regard, he has admonished the party members and supporters across the country and beyond to, at all times, remain united as one elephant family.
Nicknamed as Napo in political circles, he particularly urged the NPP members to shun divisive acts, which has the potential of drawing the party back.
He described the upcoming NPP presidential primaries as a family affair so he urged the party members to campaign, devoid of insults and insinuations.
The lawmaker was speaking during the official opening of an ultra modern NPP in office in the Manhyia South Constituency in Kumasi in Friday morning.
Situated at Ashtown, a popular neighbourhood in the Manhyia South Constituency, the party office is equipped with computers and other equipments.
It’s expected that the commissioning of the new office would go a long way to help strengthen the Manhyia South NPP ahead of the 2024 crucial election.
The MP stated that despite the global challenges, caused by Covid-19 and other external factors, the Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration has done well.
Napo, who doubles as the Energy Minister, therefore tasked the party members to spread the government’s achievements to win more votes in 2024.
