CCC Members To Voluntarily Donate Blood In Honour Of General Overseer Who Turns 70 On Saturday

Less than 1 minute Minutes

In a powerful demonstration of community spirit and civic responsibility, members of the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) are set to participate in a massive voluntary blood donation drive this Saturday morning.

The exercise aims to critically restock the blood bank at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Kumasi’s premier medical facility.

The special exercise is being organized to celebrate a major milestone, the 70th birthday of CCC’s esteemed General Overseer, Reverend Ransford Obeng.

While the annual blood drive has been a staple of the church’s calendar for a decade, originally institutionalized when Reverend Obeng turned 60, this milestone iteration is drawing unprecedented enthusiasm from the congregation.

Appeal:

Rallying the congregation during last Sunday’s service at the church’s headquarters in Ayigya, Resident Minister, Pastor Joshua Obeng urged members to turn out in their numbers, while emphasizing the importance of donor safety.

“I appeal to all of us to voluntarily turn up at the church premises this Saturday,” Pastor Joshua stated.

He added, “Let us show love to our General Overseer, Pastor Ransford, by giving the gift of life. However, we will strictly ensure that only those declared fit and cleared by the KATH medical team are permitted to donate.”

Given CCC’s immense footprint in the Ashanti Region and its expanding global presence, organizers anticipate an exceptional turnout.

The church aims to secure at least 700 successful donations from its Ayigya headquarters alone to hand over to KATH officials.

Vision Born from Tragedy:

The inspiration behind the decade-long initiative is deeply personal.

Speaking during a media tour at Luv FM last Thursday, Reverend Ransford Obeng reflected on the systemic health challenges that prompted the initiative.

He recalled heart-wrenching stories of families who lost loved ones simply because local hospitals lacked adequate blood supplies.

Moved by these preventable tragedies, Reverend Obeng decided to tie his personal celebration to a public health lifeline, launching the annual blood drive on his birthday, June 6th.

With CCC having recently expanded to over 650 branches worldwide, Reverend Obeng expressed hope that this local tradition will inspire a global culture of voluntary blood donation among church members year-round.

Celebrating A Pioneer:

The weekend’s celebrations will culminate on Sunday, June 7, 2026, with a grand Thanksgiving Service at the CCC Headquarters.

The event is expected to draw a high-profile international delegation, bringing together leaders from the global Christian community, academia, corporate Ghana, traditional councils, and across the political spectrum.

Dignitaries from various faiths will also gather to honor a man whose ministry reshaped the region’s spiritual landscape.

Decades ago, Reverend Obeng’s obedience to his calling led to the establishment of the very first English-speaking charismatic assembly in the Ashanti Region.

This, seen as pioneering effort, has since blossomed into the globally recognized Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC).
