THERE IS a looming danger at Mfensi, a community in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District, in the Ashanti Region.
Traders in the town often throw caution to the wind as they virtually ‘fight’ with cars for space during Tuesdays, which is their market day.
These Traders, surprisingly, display their products, mostly foodstuffs, very close to the main Kumasi-Sunyani road, which is a busy road.
When Press1News visited Mfensi last Tuesday, the traders, who are mostly women, were seated close to the road, making brisk business.
Certainly if a vehicle mistakenly veers from the road many precious human lives would be lost.
The traders said they have been risking their lives to trade close to the busy road for the past three years because they don’t have any other option.
According to them, the district assembly’s promise to relocate them to a safer and decent place to trade has turned out to be a hoax.
The traders have, once again, appealed to the assembly, especially their DCE, Rebecca Yeboah aka ‘Sister’, to come to their aid.
