THE ASANTE Youth Association (AYA), a group with links to the Manhyia Palace has commended the President of the Republic for nominating and subsequently appointing the KNUST lecturer, Prof Dr Dr Otchere Addai Mensah as the next Chief Executive Officer for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
The group’s Vice President, Joe Oppong in an interview with the media today said they were happy that the President has chosen a true Asante blood as the next CEO for KATH.
Mr Oppong said apart from the fact that Prof Otchere Addai Mensah was from this region, he has studied and gained every needed knowledge and competence and thus was highly qualified for the position he has been appointed to occupy.
This, he noted, nullifies any argument anyone could bring about competence or qualification.
“We at AYA are highly elated by the President’s choice and having known Prof Addai-Mensah for close to two decades we know he would lift the name of Asanteman high with his performance as CEO of KATH”, the Vice-Chancellor President noted.
Privileged Information:
Mr Oppong said AYA had the information of the KNUST lecturer’s appointment on the same day the Secretary to the President released a statement on same.
He noted that from the 8th of November when some of them saw the letter they had been wondering why the official announcement was delaying.
However, he noted that the information AYA has is that the President will make an official statement to confirm Prof Dr DR Otchere Addai Mensah as the next CEO of KATH.
“We knew that people especially those with sinister motives would seek to twist things to favour their favourites but we are comforted in the fact that the nominee is the President’s choice and that nails the matter”, the Vice President stated.
Cautioned:
The Vice President cautioned staff at KATH who are being used to spread false information to desist from doing so henceforth.
He argued that the nominee of the President is more qualified than any person who has ever worked at KATH as CEO.
“Prof Dr Dr Addai-Mensah has taught at the KNUST medical school and all its affiliates in the country and makes him fit for the position he has been nominated for and surely he cannot be described as an outsider”, the Vice President stated.
He said AYA warmly and heartily congratulates Prof DR DR Otchere Addai Mensah who they consider as an “institution” on his own as the next KATH CEO.
