A GROUP by name, Diaspora For Bawumia has indicated their readiness to vote for the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Saturday in the NPP flag-bearer election.
Addressing the media in Kumasi with other members and representatives seated, Kingsley Ahenkorah, Chairman for Diaspora For Bawumia noted that the group finds the Vice President as the ideal candidate who could lead the party to win the 2024 polls.
The Chairman revealed that their membership is made up of elements from the NPPs 27 Diaspora branches including Ireland, Germany, United Kingdom, USA, Holland, Spain and many others.
“We are solidly behind Dr Bawumia because we believe he has the competence, character, experience and temperament to lead us to win the upcoming 2024 elections”, Mr Ahenkorah stated.

Enumerating some of the works undertaken by the Vice-President, the Group’s Chairman said Dr Bawumia has ensured that services the state should render to the people were digitised.
He noted that outfits such as the National Health Insurance Scheme, the Electricity Company of Ghana, the Ghana Ports and Harbours, the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Ghana Passport Offices are now fully digitised.
These innovations, Mr Ahenkorah stressed had drastically reduced time spent in seeking for these services, adding that corruption that was rampant at these outfits had also been eliminated.
“We believe aside the digitalisation agenda the Vice President has so far led, he has also introduced the QR code system which gets every person to pay for services and purchases using same seamlessly and for us all these have made Ghana to perform like the developed countries where some of us are coming from”, the Chairman stated.
Youth Organiser:
A member of the Group and Youth Organiser for the USA branch of the NPP, Danny Opoku Antwi in an interview said the work rate of the Vice President and the wife, Samira Bawumia present the party the unique opportunity to wage a better campaign to win the 2024 general elections for the NPP.
Aside the competences of Dr Bawumia, Mr Opoku Antwi said the calm attitude and forthright character of the Veep singles him out as an ideal leader.
He noted that the Group members are delegates and had come down to campaign and cast their votes on Saturday and were sure the Vice President would win to lead the NPP.
“Our message is simple and we urge all delegates of the party to partner us to give the Vice President a resounding endorsement on Saturday so that he would know that we believe in his competences, character, vision to make Ghana a transformed economy”, Mr Opoku Antwi noted.
