DR. MATTHEW Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has explained the motive behind his recent visits to the various palaces of chiefs in the country.
He said his boss, the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, consider chiefs as the real owners of the country, considering the huge sacrifices that chiefs made to help secure the country in the olden days.
Presently, Napo stated emphatically that chiefs continue to play crucial and significant roles towards the effective and proper development of the country.
In this regard, Napo said the NPP has taken a firm decision to visit chiefs in their palaces and respectfully seek their blessings and wise counsel as they seek to win the December 7 election.
According to the NPP Vice Presidential Candidate, the country’s developmental agenda will be expedited if the revered chiefs are given the needed recognition and respect.
Napo gave the explanation whilst addressing the attendants of an ‘Akwasidae’ festival, which was organized by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in London on Sunday, August 4.
