DR. MATTHEW Opoku Prempeh, the Energy Minister, was the toast of NPP supporters that trooped to the Manhyia Palace on Sunday.
Nicknamed as ‘Napo’, the famous politician was virtually mobbed by excited-looking NPP members, who also chanted his name aloud.
This was when President Nana Akufo-Addo visited the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as part of his working tour of the Ashanti Region.
The president was accompanied by some ministers and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in his government.
But the mere presence of Napo, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South at the Palace, got the entire place electrified.
The enthusiastic looking NPP members, who were clad in party paraphernalia, were seen following Napo and singing melodious victory songs.
Some of the party people were also heard showering praises at Napo for working hard to eradicate frequent power cuts aka ‘Dumsor’.
Dr. Prempeh who seemed excited over the warm reception accorded to him, was seen exchanging pleasantries with the party members.
