PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has descended heavily on the detractors of his NPP government.
Brimming with rage, he said his administration has not neglected the Ashanti Region as being rumored around.
According to him, the Ashanti Region has received its fair share of developmental projects from his administration, so far.
However, he bemoaned that his detractors continue to falsely accuse him of virtually abandoning the Ashanti Region.
“I have heard wild rumours that my administration has neglected the Ashanti Region and that is palpable false.
“We have constructed 300 kilometers and 100 kilometers asphalt roads in the Ashanti Region and Kumasi, respectively.
“My government has also tackled a whopping 32 hospital projects in the Ashanti Region to improve healthcare delivery”.
He was addressing the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace during his four-day tour of the Ashanti Region.
President Akufo-Addo stated that he would highlight his numerous projects in the Ashanti Region to shame his critics.
Galamsey Fight:
Sounding confident, he stated categorically that his government would eradicate illegal mining also known as ‘Galamsey’.
“I will eradicate Galamsey before my tenure expires on January 7, 2025”, the president promised the Asante Monarch.
He said no government in Ghana’s history has made efforts to eradicate illegal mining like his NPP administration.
The president therefore urged the citizenry to support his government to eradicate Galamsey and protect the environment.
He was accompanied to the palace by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the Energy Minister and MP for Manhyia South and others.
