TRAFFIC FLOW in Kumasi, particularly in the central business districts (CBDs), is gradually improving, thanks to the decongestion exercise by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
The KMA has, since May 5, 2025, banned trading in the streets and other unauthorized places in the CBDs.
Prior to this directive spearheaded by the City Mayor, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, humans, specifically traders and vehicles, were competing for space on the streets, causing significant traffic congestion in Kumasi.
The CBDs are now filled with an adequate number of metro guards ensuring full compliance with the Assembly’s order.
A visit to the CBDs by Press1News.com on Tuesday May 6, 2025 revealed that movement has become easier and more comfortable for both pedestrians and commercial vehicles.
