THERE WAS mad rush for New Patriotic Party paraphernalia during the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi, in Ashanti Region, on Saturday.
People who deal in the party items such as miniature flags, T-Shirts, and other items were seen making brisk business around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, venue for the event.
Enthusiastic NPP supporters were seen patronizing the party’s items, which are decorated in the red, white and blue colours of the largest opposition political party in the country.
The high demand and patronage of the NPPs paraphernalia is a clear indication of the strong love and affection that the numerous supporters of the NPP have for their party.
Some of the dealers in the NPP paraphernalia could not hide their joy as they shard their unforgettable brisk business experience with Press1News on Saturday.
One of them, who gave her name only as Sister Akosua, said sales in NPP paraphernalia dropped sharply after the party lost the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to her, sales in NPP items started to improve after the party successfully elected Dr. Mahama Bawumia as their presidential candidate for the upcoming 2028 elections.
Sister Akosua, however, said the manner at which party members and sympathizers were rushing to buy NPP items at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Saturday astonished her.
“From what I’m witnessing today, I can boldly state that the NPPs spirit is back. Suddenly the love that the people used to have for the party is back and I’m even surprised.
“Business has been very good today not only for me. My colleagues who also sell NPP items are also saying the same and we thank God for that”, Sister Akosua happily said.
Another trader, Abena Konadu, said “business has been extremely good today and I wish that the NPP would organize such conferences every weekend to help our business”.
She also indicated that business had slumped for the last 18 months, stressing that she was happy that the NPP members have started to purchase the party’s items once again.
