The Chiefs and people of Kotei, a community in the Oforikrom can now boast of a modern Astro Turf where their young lads who are interested in football can be trained and prepared for a career in the sport.
Speaking at the commissioning of the modern pitch facility constructed by Best Construction Limited last weekend, Chief of Kotei, Nana Nkansah Amoaye, commended Claudia Kwarteng, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Oforikrom for lobbying for the project.
The Chief said the facility apart from uplifting the image of the community, would also help to unearth talents in football in the community.
“We are happy that our daughter Claudia Kwarteng continues to show commitment to helping us to develop the Oforikrom Constituency especially the communities under same and it is gratifying that Kotei can now boast of this edifice which would help us unearth talents in football for future benefits”, the Chief noted.
Oforikrom MCE:
The Municipal Chief Executive for Oforikrom, Mr Abraham Antwi thanked the aspiring MP, Claudia Kwarteng for lobbying for the project.
He promised that as managers of the project, the Assembly would keep an eye on same to ensure it lasts long for the community and the municipality.
Aspiring MP:
Speaking at the event, Claudia Kwarteng thanked the Chiefs and people for their support and encouragement throughout the time she decided to lobby for the project as well as many others in the Oforikrom Constituency.
She also commended workers and staff at Ghana Gas Company Limited especially its CEO, Dr Ben Asante for putting money into the project and ensuring that they recruited Best Construction Limited to undertake such an excellent job.
Madam Kwarteng said more of such developmental projects were in the pipeline for other communities under the Krofrom but asked the Chiefs and people at Kotei especially the Committee set up to oversee the use of the project to undertake rigorous maintenance regime on the facility.
“I am hopeful that we will together take good care of this project so that it will encourage some of us to lobby for more this community and the others that in this constituency”, the aspiring MP stated.

Speaking to the media, Nana Antwi Kingsford, Managing Director for Best Construction Limited thanked Ghana Gas for the confidence it has in its expertise.
He noted that his outfit deploys the best of technology into the construction of the Astro Turf facilities, adding that the idea is to give the best to the people of Ghana.
“At Best Construction Limited our delight is to deploy best practices and technology into designing and the construction of astro turfs so that our employers can get quality for the funds they expend on such projects”, Nana Antwi stated.

Representative of Ghana Gas Company, praised the contractor for giving the people of Kotei the best of construction.
He asked the community to make use of the facility and maintain same to last long so as to serve the purpose it was intended.
Entertainment:
As part of plans to excite the people and the community, former Black stars players including Stephen Appiah, Ghana’s former Captain led a team made up of some notable names including Sulley Muntari, John Painstil, Agyemang Badu, Derrick Boateng, Laryea Kingston and others to play against a select side from Kotei Community.
The Aspiring MP before commencement of the game Claudia Kwarteng said that a team led by Kofi Barwuah, a famous football scout, juvenile coach and player agent has been tasked to set up two football clubs made up of young ladies and boys for the community.
