STORY
BECHEM UNITED talisman, Augustine Okrah, has flatly denied snubbing the Black Stars.
The left-footed player was reportedly handed a Black Stars call-up for a tournament in Japan.
But Okrah could not answer positively to the invitation, creating room for wild rumours.
There are rumours that the skillful player has intentionally turned his back at the Black Stars.
But in a sharp rebuttal, Okrah explained that he is not well, hence his inability to join the Black Stars.
He made this known in a chat with Bright Kankam Boadu of Pure FM Sports, monitored by Press1News.
”It is not true, I have not turned my back at the Blacks Stars as is being rumoured in some circles.
”The fact is, I returned from the Black Stars camp and played for Bechem United in a league match.
”After the game, I became exhausted and sick and it was at that time that the Black Stars call-up came.
“It was Lord Zico who called to inform me about the Black Stars invitation”, the player disclosed.
”To be honest, I am not feeling well and I don’t want to go and embarrass myself”, he indicated.
Okrah said it is his wish to deliver at 100 percent for the Stars “but I can’t do it now due to health issues”.
He said he could not even train with his colleagues at Bechem United on Tuesday morning due to poor health.
