THE PRESIDENCY has directed the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, to take charge of the management of the Bosome Freho District Assembly with immediate effect.
This follows the suspension of Yaw Danso, the beleagured District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosome Freho, who is accused of promoting illegal mining also known as ‘Galamsey’ in the district.
“H.E. the President has directed the suspension of Mr. Yaw Danso, District Chief Executive for the Bosome Freho District Assembly with immediate effect, pending investigations into his alleged engagement in illegal mining (Galamsey) activities.
“In view of the above, you are requested to provide oversight responsibility for the management and administrative issues concerning the District, until further notice”, a letter sighted by Press1News said.
It was authored and signed on October 14, 2022 by Daniel Botwe, the Minister of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, and directed to Simon Osei-Mensah.
