Kumasi. KATH To Complete Hostel For Patients’ Relatives, Others–CEO Reveals

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH),  Prof Dr Otchere Addai-Mensah says his outfit was set to complete many projects aimed at satisfying the needs of patients and their relatives as well as visitors.

Addressing the Opening Ceremony of the Hospital’s 2023 End of Year Performance Review conference in Kumasi, the CEO said key projects that would engage the attention of Management for the rest of the year will be the completion of a number of ongoing projects.

 

 

These, he noted included the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Center, Patients Relatives Hostel and the expansion and refurbishment of the Dialysis Center.

“The Hospital expects a major improvement in Dialysis services soon when the three new machines with a six month supply of consumables procured at close to GhC1.6m are delivered next month”, the CEO stated.

Prof Addai-Mensah said that, similarly, surgical and physiotherapy services are also primed to receive a major boost with the completion of the renovation of the Main Theater and the Physiotherapy Center at a combine cost of over GhC 3million.

He also disclosed that the tender processes had also commenced for the construction of a Pharmacy Complex in phases at the cost of 2.6 million dollars.

This, he stated was part of measures to improve pharmaceutical services at the hospital.

“I wish to thank all our stakeholders for their diverse support which helped the hospital to register very impressive results last year and plead same is extended to the hospital as we strive to make KATH the preferred choice for quality healthcare in the country “, Prof Addai-Mensah appealed.

Board Chairman:

On his part, Nana Effah Apenteng, Board Chairman of KATH commended the Management for working tirelessly to achieve some modest feats during the year under review.

He urged staff and workers at KATH to double their efforts in giving the best of care to patients and visitors.

The Board Chairman praised the Overlord of Asanteman,  Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for leading efforts to renovating the over 70 year old blocks at facility.

“I am glad with the modest achievements we have seen at KATH and urge that we double up efforts to make the hospital the choicest for persons seeking for quality healthcare”, the Board Chairman stated.
