Demonstrating a profound commitment to faith-driven community service, the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) opened its doors to hundreds of eager residents in Krapa, a bustling suburb of the Ejisu Municipality, hosting an extensive medical outreach and humanitarian relief drive over the weekend.
The transformative event formed part of the church’s signature annual initiative dubbed the “October Commission.”
Observed every October, the movement mobilizes CCC’s congregants and specialized ministry branches, including its dedicated Media, Outreach, and Medical teams to extend tangible relief, spiritual encouragement, and healthcare services to underserved communities across the region.
Steady Outpouring:
From as early as 7:00 AM, a crowd of early risers assembled at the spacious precincts of the CCC Agape City Church in Krapa.
Many arrived early to seek vital medical attention before tending to their weekend chores, while dozens more streamed in continuously past mid-morning after concluding early-morning business engagements.
Beyond receiving high-quality clinical assessments, every participant was blessed with an abundance of relief supplies, taking home essential groceries, quality clothing, and necessary prescription medications generously provided by the church.
Comprehensive Healthcare:
To deliver top-tier medical care, the CCC Medical Team joined forces with a formidable coalition of volunteer doctors, nurses, and healthcare practitioners drawn from the premier Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and surrounding health institutions.
Together, the medical team conducted rigorous screenings and diagnostic evaluations covering a wide range of vital health needs:
Specialized Women’s Health:
Women received critical screenings for breast cancer and cervical cancer, two of the leading preventable health threats facing women in the region.
Non-Communicable Disease (NCD):
Volunteers monitored vital parameters, testing participants for chronic conditions including hypertension, elevated blood sugar levels, and diabetes.
Routine Wellness & Diagnostics: Attendees underwent comprehensive general consultations, dental checks, and Body Mass Index (BMI) evaluations.
Prior to consultations, health practitioners conducted practical educational workshops, demonstrating proper techniques for regular breast self-examinations.
Medical professionals also strongly urged men aged 40 and above to prioritize routine prostate screenings and adopt proactive, lifelong health-seeking habits.
Faith in Action:
Addressing journalists at the venue, Pastor Joshua Obeng, Resident Pastor of the CCC Main Campus in Ayigya, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the residents of Ejisu for their overwhelming enthusiasm and participation.
He lauded the medical personnel and church volunteers for their selfless dedication, commending them for placing their expertise in service to Christ and humanity.
Pastor Obeng emphasized that the heart of the Christian faith lies not merely in sanctuary worship, but in practical, outward-focused benevolence.
“True Christianity goes beyond building spiritual capacity through the knowledge of Jesus Christ; it requires unleashing those principles for the tangible benefit of society,” Pastor Obeng remarked.
He added that, “It is about exemplifying Christ in word and deed, serving our neighbors with the resources, talents, and gifts God has entrusted to us. That is the mission CCC is fulfilling in Ejisu today, and we deeply appreciate the leadership and members of CCC Agape City in Krapa for laying such a solid foundation for us to impact this community.”
