Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister has assured the media of his cooperation so that together they could deliver the best of leadership to the people of Asanteman.
Addressing the media at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) last Thursday, the Minister noted that effective leadership is the outcome of cooperation between partners and groups that want development.
The Minister promised to operate an open door policy with the media so that they could together discuss issues that would facilitate the development agenda of the region.
“I’ll be open to you so that together we can discuss issues of development and safety of Asanteman and its peopleas well as visitors”, the Minister stated.
Galamsey:
The Minister noted that he was aware of many unscrupulous persons who are mining illegally in the region.
He also revealed that other persons in the region were also engaged in the destruction of the forest and its cover.
These issues, Dr Amoakohene stressed was the reason for his appointment and noted his desire to lead a fight against same.
“I am aware of the illegal mining as well as the destruction of the forest by some unscrupulous persons but i am determined to engage all stakeholders so that together we can stem the tide and make Ashanti safe”, Dr Amoah intimated.
Commendation:
The Minister commended the media for its role over the years.
Dr Amoakohene also praised the media for the manner it provided coverage for the various political parties during the 2024 electioneering.
The professional practice as well as conduct of the media including their vigilance, the Minister stated helped in achieving a peaceful and transparent 2024 election.
“I commend the media highly for the role you played in helping us to achieve a free, transparent and peaceful elections of 2024 and i urge you to continue to discharge your duties with utmost diligence”, the Regional Minister appealed.
