THE ASANTEHENE, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has announced Nana Ama Bonsu as the new Asantehemaa today, Monday, July 6, 2026.
The Asantehemaa’s throne became vacant following the demise of Nana Konadu Yiadom III in August 2025.

Otumfuo announced the name of the new Asantehemaa during a Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) meeting at Manhyia Palace on Monday.
The stool name of the new Asantehemaa will be announced later today after the performance of traditional rites.
