THE COUNCIL of Kwabre Chiefs have praised the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for nominating the MP for Kwabre East, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah as a Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Speaking at a press conference, the chief of Dumanafo, Nana Owusu Kwarteng II said the nomination is unprecedented in the history of Kwabre East.
He noted that the appointment signals the beginning of the needed development in road infrastructure in the area.
On his part, the chief of Wadie Adwumakase, Nana Wadie Asim II, urged the people of Kwabre East to remain calm.
He however urged them to look up to the government of Nana Akufo- Addo to deliver on their promise of upgrading the roads in the constituency.
The Odikro of Fawoade, Nana Sebe Amponfi also implored the youth who are harbouring any agenda of fomenting trouble to bring the name of Kwabre East into disrepute to reconsider their decision.
He said rather than anything else, they should channel their energies toward advocating for the development of the area.
Residents of Kwabre East over the years have been lamenting over their deplorable roads and lack of developmental projects despite the high votes they give to the NPP in general elections.
The Council of Chiefs are therefore hopeful with the elevation given to their MP, Kwabre East would see the needed development.
