In a heartwarming celebration of Mother’s Day, the Ashanti Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Francis Adomako, extended a hand of generosity to eleven selected women from the Greater Kumasi area on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
The ceremony, which took place in Kumasi, saw the distribution of essential food items and financial support aimed at easing the domestic burdens of the recipients and acknowledging their invaluable contributions to society.
Gesture:
During a brief presentation ceremony, Mr. Adomako presented the women with comprehensive care packages.
The donations included:
High-quality packaged rice and cooking oil.
Protein essentials such as mackerel and sardines.
Canned tomatoes and assorted noodles.
An undisclosed cash donation to assist with personal needs.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Adomako revealed that this gesture has become a personal “ritual.”
Despite the personal loss of his own mother, he remains committed to honoring motherhood annually.
“I decided to give to mothers today to ensure they have a reason to smile. I requested that eleven women be selected from across the Greater Kumasi constituencies to benefit from this initiative, and seeing their joy brings me immense satisfaction,” the Regional Organiser stated.
Appeal For Support:
Beyond the physical donations, Mr. Adomako used the platform to advocate for the unity and success of the NPP.
As the party prepares for a series of internal elections, ranging from the polling station level to national executive positions, he urged the mothers to keep the party in their prayers.
He emphasized that these internal reforms are critical to ensuring the NPP is “in the best of shapes” to effectively contest and secure victory in the 2028 general elections.
Endorsement:
The event also saw words of support from Lawyer Kingsley Nana Bonsu Kyeretwie, the Vice Chairperson for Manhyia South and an aspiring Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary.
Highlighting Mr. Adomako’s track record, Lawyer Kyeretwie called on the beneficiaries to support Adomako’s bid for the Ashanti Regional Secretary position.
“Mr. Adomako possesses the unique competence and institutional knowledge required to lead the regional secretariat efficiently. I ask for your continued prayers for him so he may succeed in this bid and continue his service to the people,” Lawyer Kyeretwie remarked.
Appreciation:
On behalf of the recipients, Madam Comfort Awuah, 70, expressed profound gratitude for the unexpected benevolence.
She noted that many of them had arrived expecting a simple political briefing, only to be met with significant material support.
“We were invited by our Constituency Organisers to hear a message from Mr. Adomako, but we were surprised by this generosity. We pray that God replenishes his resources so he can continue to help the needy in our society,” Madam Awuah said.
Notable Attendees:
The presentation was well-attended by party leadership, including several constituency organisers from the 11 Greater Kumasi districts.
Among them was Alhaji Abouba, the Manhyia South Constituency Organiser, who joined in supervising the successful distribution of the items.
