ASHANTI REGIONAL NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, is set to appear before a committee of chiefs at the Manhyia Palace in the coming days.
The outspoken politician is in deep waters as he has been accused of displaying gross disrespect to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, without provocation.
Credible reports indicate that Wontumi during the vetting of NPP parliamentary aspirants in the Ashanti Region last week descended heavily on Otumfuo without provocation.
The NPP guru, reportedly, said in public that he would “speak his mind to Otumfuo if he disagrees on an issue with the Asante Monarch”.
Nana Kwaku Duah, the Kokosohene, who was there, was said to have ordered Wontumi to retract those disrespectful words and apologize.
Surprisingly, Wontumi refused to retract as he (Wontumi) saw nothing wrong about his statement.
The case has since been reported at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the seat of Otumfuo, who have also invited Wontumi to the palace to explain his motive of verbally attacking Otumfuo.
