KOTOKO OWNER, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has tasked the club to win the Africa Champions League trophy for him.

According to him, it has been ages since Kotoko last won the Africa trophy so he is expecting the current players to break the jinx.

“I want to see the Africa trophy here in the Manhyia Palace”, the 16th Asante Monarch openly charged the Kotoko players and coaches.

He made the ‘big’ demand when the Kotoko players, technical team, management and supporters, stormed the Manhyia Palace.

The Kotoko delegation were at the palace to officially present the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League trophy to the Asantehene.

Otumfuo lauded the entire Kotoko family, especially the playing body, for winning the league and urged them to target the Africa trophy.

Nana Yaw Ampongsah, the Kotoko CEO, assured the Asantehene that Kotoko will make a huge impact in Africa to make him proud.

He said Kotoko will at least reach the group stage of the Africa Champions League, stressing that Kotoko is a global football brand.
