Debate Champions, KUHIS, Presents Trophy To Asokwa MCE

Story:

FIVE STUDENTS from Kumasi High School who represented it and won the 2022 Luv Fm Ashanti Region Schools Debate have together with their tutors and headmaster presented the trophy it won to the Municipal Chief Executive for Asokwa, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah. 

The team beat Prempeh College who had been to the finals on two successive times to the 2022 trophy.

Winning with 4 points, the KUHIS team displayed excellent oratory backed with solid and mindblowing arguments to defend their stance that academic qualification should balance the anointing of God on preachers.

Displaying profuse proficiency in thought and dexterity in presentation throughout the competition, the KUHIS team won the hearts of both judges and the audience at the finals at the Christian Service University College (CSUC) auditorium, venue for the competition.

Presenting the trophy to the Asokwa MCE at his office, Headmaster of KUHIS, Mr Hall-Baidoo said the team had taken time to study their craft.

He noted that the team were lucky to have committed tutors who spent effort and time to train and shape the minds of the students for the competition.

The headmaster said the team and the school decided to present the trophy to the MCE since he was both the head of the Municipality and incidentally a Board Member of KUHIS.

He took the opportunity to thank the Asokwa MCE for taking particular interest in the welfare of both staff and students at KUHIS and investing funds into some projects including the recent construction of an incinerator in the school.

In his succinct remarks, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah, the Asokwa MCE commended the debate team for their sterling performance.

He noted that he was following their exploits at the start of the competition and only missed the opportunity to be present during the final day of the debate due to workplace duties.

He promised to visit the school to present something from the Assembly for the feat chalked.

“You have made the people of Gyinyase where your school is situated as well as your school’s management, staff, Asokwa Municipal Assembly and your old and new boys proud and it is our prayer that you continue to display excellent academic prowess in all fields because you are the best”, the MCE stated to rapturous applause.

Present at the brief ceremony were members of the Assembly’s management including the Municipal Director, Mr Samuel Owusu Mensah and Social Welfare and Development Director, Dickson Frimpong, who is an abrante3 (old student of KUHIS).
