ALAN KWADWO Kyerematen, flag-bearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has donated 180 bags of rice and 55 bags of sugar to the 47 Nasara wings of the party in Ashanti.
Presenting the items on behalf of the former Trades Minister, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah, Ashanti Regional Coordinator for the Alan Kyerematen C6ampaign said the gesture is to enable Muslims in the party break their fast on a good note.
The aspirant, Hon Amankwah said was very appreciative of sacrifices by Muslims in the country especially those in the Zongo communities who had fasted for 30 days and prayed for the peace of Ghana.
“This donation once again demonstrates the endless commitment and love our next leader and future President of Ghana has for Muslims and it is worth mentioning that he also wishes all those who fasted well. He also prays to God to get the chance to lead the NPP and to win the Presidency to help in the development of the country”, Hon Amankwah posited.
Earlier Donation:
Mr Kyerematen had on Sunday presented bags of rice, sugar and cooking oil to the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Moomen Haroun at his residence.
Making the presentation on behalf of Mr Kyerematen, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah commended the Islamic leader and all Muslims for undertaking such a hard task on behalf of the people of Ghana.
Receiving the items, the Chief Imam prayed for Mr Kyerematen and the campaign team for a successful undertaking.
Admonition:
Hon Amankwah admonished the Muslim Youth to end the fasting in a good note.
He asked that they put up good behaviours and enjoy the upcoming Eid in peace.
Erroneous Impression:
Hon Amankwah, a former MP for Manhyia North parried off the erroneous impression some persons in the party have been creating as if there was religious intolerance in the country.
He noted that Christians and Muslims have co-existed in peace since Ghana became a nation, adding that the constant call for tolerance amongst these two faiths was becoming too artificial.
Reception:
Receiving the items on behalf of the Nasara Wing, Ambassador Shaibu Musa Shariff, Zongo Coordinator for the Alan Kyerematen Campaign thanked the leading aspirant of the Party for the gesture.
He noted that Mr Kyerematen has from 2007 donated to Muslims of the Party.
This, he noted showed that he was humane and considerate.
“I urge the Nasara Wing of our Party and other members of the party who are delegates to remember Alan Kyerematen when they go to the polls since he is the only person who has consistently demonstrated love for NPP”, the former Ambassador stated.
