FORMER PRESIDING Member of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Abraham Boadi, has called on the hierarchy of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to suspend the Ashanti regional chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako.
The call by Mr. Boadi also known as Opooman, is premised on Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as chairman Wontumi’s public endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.
The budding firebrand politician while talking on Silver TV/FM in Kumasi said chairman Wontumi is not bigger than the party and called on the National Council of the party to call him (Wontumi) to order or suspend him to foster unity among party members in the region.
The Ashanti regional chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako has launched a “Bawumia Must Win” (BMW) slogan at an event recently in a bid to rally the support of the entire Ashanti regional NPP behind the candidature of the Vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Following the “BMW” campaign, delegates in the region are being prepared to throw their support behind the vice president, who is being accused of campaigning at the wrong time against party guidelines.
