Ghana-Qatar Signs Joint Coorperation Pact

A JOINT declaration for cooperation between the Ghana Police Service and the Qatar 2022 World Cup Organizing Committee has been signed.

This agreement mandates the Ghana Police Service to collaborate with the World Cup hosts to maintain security among Ghanaian fans during the World Cup.

Commissioner of Police (COP), Kofi Boakye, signed the dotted lines on behalf of the Ghana Police Service during a colourful ceremony in Qatar, recently.

COP Kofi Boakye had led a three-man powerful delegation, including COP George Mensah and COP Edward Tabiri to Qatar for a top security conference.

Dubbed as ‘The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Security Last Mile Conference’, the programme started from May 22nd to 23rd, 2022.

The conference brought together top police officers from across the globe, who shared ideas, regarding what should be done to make the Mundial successful.

The Ghana Police Service delegation signed the joint cooperation agreement with the Qatar 2022 World Cup Organizing Committee on the sidelines of the conference.

The Ghana Police Service is expected to send policemen to Qatar to maintain security and welfare of Ghanaian soccer fans during the duration of the Mundial.

Meanwhile, the COP Kofi Boakye-led delegation have since returned home safely from Qatar, Press1News is aware.
