Taxi driver killed by unknown assailants at Kotwi-Nkoransa

Kwabena Awuah, 35, a taxi cab driver, has been killed by yet-to-be-identified assailants at the Nkoransa Paanoo junction in Kotwi-Nkoransa in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.

The gruesome incident occurred in the late hours of Monday, July 27, 2026, while the deceased, fondly called Asawado, was operating his vehicle with registration number AW 2458-20.

Ibrahim Gyamfi, who spoke to Kwame Awuah Nimfour, a journalist with Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio, at the crime scene, said Kwabena Awuah was at home on the evening of July 27 around 8:00pm.

He narrated that the deceased had a misunderstanding with his wife in the evening and left home.

Ibrahim Gyamfi said Kwabena Awuah later told his colleagues around 11:00pm that he was working overnight, after which he met his untimely death.

The Police at Brofoyedru, a nearby community, have since recorded the gruesome incident.

They have deposited the body at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue pending an autopsy and investigations to apprehend the perpetrators.
