No Dev’t In Ashanti Notion Is Misconception-Sam Pyne

Less than 1 minute Minutes

SAMUEL KWABENA Sakyi Pyne, the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has debunked the claims that the Akufo-Addo-led NPP government has done very little in terms of infrastructural development for the Ashanti Region is a misconception.

He said the notion that NPP has done nothing for Asanteman is a fallacy and should be treated with all the contempt it deserves.

The mayor’s position was in obvious reaction to claims by some aggrieved grassroots members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region which claim was also buttressed by the Ashanti NPP MPs caucus that their leadership and government had neglected the region.

The Youth in the Kwabre East District while addressing a press conference at Mamponteng recently, threatened to vote against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) if their roads are not fixed.

Amaning Kwarteng, Spokesperson and Unit Committee Chairman for the Antoa Electoral area said the entire Kwabre East has been neglected by the NPP government.

But the Kumasi Mayor, speaking to Silver FM’s Morning Show Host, Nana Kwasi Sarpong Kumankuma, admitted that there are deficits in terms of road infrastructure in the region, but indicated that the stories doing the rounds in town that the government has neglected the region is an overkill and pointed out that several infrastructural developments have been completed or being undertaken by the current government.

The Mayor used the medium to assure residents in Kumasi of massive transformation in the months ahead.

He, however, appealed to the supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to spread good message of the government than inciting floating voters against the government.
