We’ve Been Overwhelmed By Your Kindness—Chief Imam Commends MTN Ghana

The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Haroun Moomen has commended MTN Ghana  for consistently showing the Muslim community bouts of kindness.

Receiving some items such as a white ram, bags of rice, packs of bottled water, boxes of cooking oils and bottles of assorted soft drinks at the Central Mosque from officials of MTN Ghana, the Chief Imam noted that for over a decade the telecommunications company have continuously donated food and other items from the brand during Ramadan ahead of the EID that follows.

 

 

This, he stressed showed that the company respects the Islamic Faith and its followers.

“For more than ten years MTN Ghana has shown great faith in us and have at every end of Ramadan, that is our 30 day fasting period presented food items, drinks and others to us to help us celebrate the ensuing EID and we are grateful”, the Chief Imam stated.

Appeal:

Sheikh Moomen asked the public to patronize the services MTN Ghana provides.

He noted that it was fitting to help the company grow in its business since the public and the Muslim Company benefit from the services and kindnesses they extend.

Admonition:

The Regional Chief Imam used the occasion to remind the public that 2024 general election was eight (8) months away.

He therefore cautioned especially the youth not to present themselves as tools for violence or disorder but rather instruments of peace so that the country could reap its benefits.

MTN Ghana Official:

Mr Simon Amoh, Acting General Manager of MTN Ghana-Northern Business District explained to the media that the annual donation to the Muslim community by the company was to encourage them in the faith they profess and to appreciate them for the humbling act of fasting which they use to pray for the country.

He noted that for MTN Ghana anything that binds the people together as well as actions that promote peace is worthy of  support.

Mr Amoh however disclosed that similar donations to other regional Chief Imams were being done across Ghana.

“We believe that as Muslims fast and pray for the peace of Ghana and the prosperity of its people same reflects on our business as well and therefore the need to support them with food items and drinks that would reinvigorate them after the gruelling 30 day fast”, the MTN Ghana official intimated.
