Napo’s ‘Magic’ Improves Energy Sector

Less than 1 minute Minutes

THE COUNTRY’S energy sector, all of a sudden, has been recording massive positive gains and successes within the past one-year and some months now.

Within this short period under discussion, virtually all the sectors under the Ministry of Energy have thrived and recorded gains that even beats human imagination.

From the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), GRIDCO and all the other sectors under the umbrella of the Energy Ministry, success has been their story so far.

Few years ago the Energy Ministry was struggling to stand on its feet, so the massive gains, recorded in these sectors, have come as a surprise to even industry players and experts.

The successes have been huge and widespread across all the sectors. Some people even think that some magical powers has been doing the trick for these sectors.

But gurus and experts in the energy sector have laid the positive story right at the doorstep of the current Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’.

They said Napo’s extraordinary leadership qualities and hard work, which is an open secret in the country, is being experienced in the entire energy sector now.

As a reminder, Napo made massive positive news when he was the Minister of Education, especially when he introduced to free Senior High School (SHS) programme.

Experts in the energy sector in the country are of the strong conviction that Napo’s extraordinary works is now influencing positive change in the energy sector as well.

“The Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and Managing Directors (MDs) in the sectors under energy ministry are working now and the fruits of their labour are ripening to the benefit of the state.

“Whilst BOST and VRA are now recording profits, other sectors like the ECG and NEDCo are curbing thievery and the NPA is also curbing the harmful practices in the system.

“The grid system (GRIDCo) is also stabilizing with power cuts considerably minimized”, this was the opinion of an energy expert who spoke to Press1News on anonymity.

He also added that “Some sectors are aiming to be leaders in renewables (Bui and NPG) and others are soon going to get Ghana more stake in our oil reserves (PC and GNPC).

“I wonder the power behind this transformation in the Energy Sector. It’s not magic (although some have claimed it is), I suspect it’s Napo’s leadership”, the energy expert pointed out.
