A BROADCAST Journalist with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, an affiliate of Multimedia Group Ltd, Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, has caused a stir as he has invoked curses live on radio.

The beleaguered journalist has been accused of collecting bribe from former President John Dramani Mahama to work against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

In a leaked audio, Frank Kwaku Appiah aka ‘Appiah Stadium’, a known NDC member, reportedly said Mr. Mahama gave the US$ 2,000 bribe to Nana Jantuah to work for the NDC.

In his reaction, Nana Jantuah, who claimed to be innocent of the bribery charge, invoked curses on himself on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, just to prove that indeed he is innocent of the charge.

According to him, he doesn’t even know former President Mahama in person, let alone stooping low to collect bribe from him to work and tarnish the image of the NPP government.

“I don’t know John Dramani Mahama in person. If he has bribed me with US$ 2000 as they are alleging, then the Heavens should strike me dead”, Nana Jantuah angrily cursed.

According to him, he is innocent of the bribery charge being preferred against him just to tarnish his hard-won image, stressing that those behind the plot have failed woefully.

Nana Jantuah stated emphatically that the bribery allegations would not force him to change his style of journalism, which has made him a household name in Kumasi.

“I will not change. I will continue to be strong, firm and fair in the airwaves”, he declared, adding that he would continue to hit hard at both the NPP government and the opposition NDC.

“The opposition and the government are afraid of my name because they know that they cannot buy me with money”, he said and added that he is not perturbed by the wild allegations.

According to Nana Jantuah he is not that poor to settle for a meagre US$ 2000 bribe to destroy his positive works in the media landscape, urging the public to disregard the allegations.

The Broadcast Journalist, who claimed to be a staunch Christian, also stated that “I have forgiven those who are tarnishing my name and image with these concocted bribery allegations”.

Meanwhile, Multimedia Group Ltd Kumasi has also cleared Nana Kwadwo Jantuah of any wrongdoing, stressing that their staff, who is the host of Nhyira FM Morning Show, has not collected any bribe.

In a release, authored and signed by Jimmy Aglah, the General Manager, Multimedia Group Ltd Kumasi, said “preliminary investigations reveal that the allegation is unsubstantiated”.
