Story

ETOUGA MBELLA has been advised to practice penalty kicks on his own to become perfect.

The Cameroonian import is Kotoko’s number one penalty kicker, Press1News understands.

Barcelona Striker, Memphis Depay, who trace his roots in Ghana, gave Etouga the admonishment.

This was when the Dutch goal poacher met with the Kotoko playing body in Accra, few days ago.

Memphis is a great penalty kicker as he usually converts from the spot for club and country.

However, there have been few times that he failed to convert penalty kicks during games.

On his part, Etouge was able to convert most of Kotoko’s penalty kicks, missing few of them.

The foreign goal poacher infamously missed two penalty kicks against Aduana Stars last season.

Memphis said missing from the spot happen sometimes but the player shouldn’t give up.

“If you miss from the spot, don’t allow the media headlines to ‘kill’ your confidence”, he advised.

According to him, the best way for Etouga to become an expert penalty kicker is via training.

“Practice how to take penalty kicks on your own after each training session”, Memphis told Mbella.

Memphis, who is on holidays in the country, also congratulated Kotoko for winning the league.

“Keep winning, be focused, help your teammates,
believe in yourselves and ensure team unity.

“This is what Kotoko needs to stay on top”, he said “I am always focused and determined to succeed”,
