Gov’t Committed To Developing Communities Under Amansie South-DCE Assures

Hon Clement Opoku Gyamfi, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South has reiterated the desire of government through the Assembly to consciously carry out development initiatives in the communities under the district.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Manso-Datano during the commissioning of a 30 seater Water-Closet toilets and washrooms facility, Hon Gyamfi said the Assembly was dutifully rolling out development projects for all the 86 communities under the Amansie South District.

He noted that just as Datano was getting some projects including the toilet facility as well ten lockable stores and a soon to be completed lorry park, other communities,  he added would also get their due in due course.

“I am happy that i work with good Assembly Members and staff who are committed to helping me to design development initiatives that would cause the facelift of the 86 communities under Amansie South”, the DCE stated.

Admonition:

The DCE charged the 9 member committee set up to monitor the operation of the Sanitation facility in Datano to dutifully carry out their supervision works.

He noted that proceeds from the facility would be used to maintain same for the people.

Hon Opoku Gyamfi also asked the Chiefs and people to join the Assembly in monitoring the project so that it can last long for the community.

“I urge all of us to take interest in keeping this facility clean and tidy so that it can serve us well and i will urge the committee to keep a good maintenance regime so that the facility can last long for the people of Datano”, Hon Gyamfi stressed.

Environmental Officer:

Madam Doris Adade, Amansie South Environmental Officer urged the community to keep the facility clean.

She noted that clean environments prevent the incidences of malaria, diarrhoea and dysentery.

Presiding Member:

Samuel Amponsah,  Assembly Member of Datano and Presiding Member at the Amansie South Assembly thanked the DCE for keeping a focus that is tailored towards development initiatives.

The watercloset facility as well as the construction of 10 lockable stores and a lorry park for the people of Datano,  he noted, was a welcome gesture and urged the community to keep the facilities in good shape so that it serves the intended purpose.

Chief:

Nana Danso Poku, Nkosuohene of Datano speaking at the Datano DA School Park commended the DCE for assisting the community to put up the toilet facility.

The Chief also commended the Assembly for showing commitment to development of the communities under Amansie South.

He urged the DCE and the MP to continue to use their lobbying skills to get all roads leading to the district fixed since the area was a major food basket in the AshantiRegion.

“I commend Hon Opoku Gyamfi for this project including the roads that have been fixed at Kumpese and many other areas but i also plead that he together with the MP work to get roads leading in and out of our district fixed so we can have a booming economy here”, the Chief stated.

Dignitaries:

Present at the ceremony were staff of the Amansie South District, some representatives of some Mining Companies as well as constituency Chairmen of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
