The MTN Group President and CEO, Ralph Mupita, has described “Ghana as a key market for the MTN Group” and has therefore pledged his company’s commitment to the country.

He made this known during a meeting  with President Nana Akufo-Addo, at the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly set of meetings in the US.

Present at the meeting were Senior Vice President for Markets, Ebenezer Asante, and Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, Nompilo Morafo.

The courtesy visit to the President of Ghana by MTN was part of useful engagements the company drew up for discussion at the world body’s meetings.

Details:

They discussed issues related to the current global macro-economic developments and the impact on African countries.

The team also dwelt on developments in the telecommunications sector, rural broadband coverage, progress with MTN’s localization plans, now at 23.7%.

Most importantly, the Group CEO pledged the commitment to Ghana as a key market for the MTN Group.
