Atwima Nwabiagya “Sir John” Assists NCCE with Funds For Sensitization

THE First Vice Chairman of Atwima Nwabiagya-South Branch of the NPP, Mr John Kwame Duodu, popularly known as Sir John on Friday donated an undisclosed amount of cash to the Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).

The donation by Sir John who is also patron to NPP Students Wing, TESCON was to support the NCCE’s effort to intensify its public education and sensitization on the upcoming Electoral activities.

Speaking to this reporter, Mr Duodu said “this gesture is intended to help the NCCE educate citizens on the three different exercises the Electoral commission will be embarking on soon”.

Giving details of the NCCE Sensitization drive, Mr Duodu said the Commission was currently educating citizens about the Limited Registration to be held by the Electoral Commission from the 12th of September to 2nd October.

The other, he mentioned would be the Replacement of lost voter ID cards at a cost of GHC10 starting from October 3.

Lastly, he indicated will be the transfer of votes from October 3 to October 9.

“My gesture is tailored towards enabling the NCCE carry out sensitization and widespread education on these three activities to be undertaken by the Electoral Commission (EC)”, the NPP Vice Chairperson stressed.

Reception:

Receiving the items on behalf of the NCCE, the Municipal Director, Mr. Emmanuel Wiredu-Akwafo underscored the importance to invest in the mindset of citizens to become responsible for their actions.

Mr. Wiredu-Akwafu therefore thanked Sir John for the kind gesture.

He  also commended the NPP Vice chairman for being the first constituent to donate to his outfit.

“This gesture is pleasantly surprising because in my seventeen (17) years of service in the office NCCE i have not seen such a thing before and i commend Sir John for his marvellous philanthropic works”, the Director stated.
