THE ASSEMBLIES of God (AG) Church is holding its 8th Council Meeting at the Living Waters Assembly in Kumasi with a charge to its Ministers to live holy lives to engender revival in their ministries.

The church also uses this occasion to ordain Pastors who have completed the church’s Bible School and have served as Ministers of the Gospel for over 5 years.

Speaking to the media during the opening ceremony, the Ashanti Regional Superintendent of AG, Reverend Dr Justice K Boadi said the church by its theme for the year is urging all its ministers including the 18 it was ordaining to live holy lives if they would want to see revival and the hand of God in their ministries.

‘’This is our  8th regional council meeting even though the church is 92 years old in Ghana and for us we use these council meetings to ordain our Pastors who have completed our three year Bible School course and are in their 6th year as Pastors of Assemblies of God’’, Rev Dr Boadi intimated.

Details:

Rev Dr Boadi disclosed that the Council meeting is bringing together 600 Pastors and Church workers as well as observers to the 8th annual meeting.

In Ghana, he revealed that Assemblies of God has by God’s grace planted about 6, 000 churches across the regions.

Currently, he noted that 4, 000 Pastors were in charge of its branches across Ghana and doing God’s work to influence the development of the people and the nation.

‘’I am happy to say that the Assemblies of God Church has been instrumental in both character formation and national development. We currently have 6,000 churches planted across Ghana with 4000 Pastors and staff manning those places’’, the regional superintendent asserted.

Assistant General Superintendent:

Preaching the main sermon at the meeting, Reverend Dr Godwin Tito Agyei, Assistant General Superintendent of Assemblies of God encouraged Pastors and the participants to strive to do the work of God well.

He noted that serving God the right way and with good conduct as well as holiness was not an easy thing but urged them to be determined to follow the call on their lives.

‘’If we are to see revival in our ministries and churches we must strive to live Godly lives at all times as we add prayer to everything we do’’, the Assistant Superintendent noted.

Praying to ordain the 18 Pastors, Rev Dr Tito urged them to live up to their calling and asked their spouses to support them to make the work impactful.

Later the 18 Pastors were sworn into office by a High Court Judge who also administered the oath of office to them.

National Impact:

The Assistant General Superintendent said the church had demonstrated its impact through the building of mission schools, prisons, social centers and also assisted in situations needing national attention.

He noted that the church was standing with the government to work to restore the Ghanaian economy back to a better shape than what it is now.

Rev Tito rallied Ghanaians to pray and have hope that God would pull them through the harsh economic conditions which he noted was a global phenomenon.
