Agriculturist Obeng Boateng files Nomination Papers To Represent NPP As Parliamentary candidate

Agriculturist, Obeng Boateng on Sunday filed his nomination papers to contest as parliamentary aspirant for the Ahafo Ano South East branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Boateng, clad in a white t-shirt bearing his own image stormed the party office at Adugyama with some ecstatic supporters numbering over 100.

 

 

These were delegates from the various electoral areas in the constituency.

Mr Boateng speaking to this reporter said he was determined to replace Hon Francis Manu-Adabor, the incumbent MP who is not seeking re-election.

Presenting his forms at the party office, Mr Obeng Boateng promised to conduct
a clean campaign and abide by the regulations of the internal polls.

He noted that his aim is to win the upcoming election and represent the NPP in Parliament after the December 2024 polls so that he can drive massive change and development into the constituency.

The Agriculturalist said with his background he would ensure the over 70% farmers in the community are supported with incentives such as fertiliser and improved seedlings as well as funds to increase production.

“I plan to use my background to drive investments into our area’s farming activites as well as seek support for the establishment of a Loan Trust so we can offer interest free funds for people to do business and further their education as we also plan to secure more scholarships for natives to upgrade their knowledge at the university”, Mr Boateng said.

Mr Kwadwo Owusu, Constituency Chairman of Ahafo Ano South East commended the aspirant for fulfilling a requirement of the party by submitting his forms.

This, he noted shows that the aspirant was ready to contest in the upcoming Parliamentary contest where in addition to him the apsirants would be six (6)

He urged all aspirants to abide by the rules governing the primary and conduct clean campaigns after going through the vetting process slated for the 3rd January through to the the 5th of same month.

“I am happy with the enthusiasm of all the apirants in the upcoming polls and would urge Mr Boateng to continue to conduct his campaign in peace so that the party would show to the world that it believes in democracy but not anarchy”, the Chairman stated.
