THE ASANTE Mampong District Police Command have arrested nine male suspects in possession of dried leaves suspected to be ‘Wee’.

The suspects are Owusu Ransford, 23, Victorious Obeng, 26, Nana Yaw Sekyere, 25, Evans Kakari, 30 and Attah Paul, who is 26 years old.

 

 

The rest of the suspects are Yaw Adu, aged 24, Rauf Tahiru, aged 21, Abdu Razack, aged 30 and Francis Akumoah Boateng, aged 30.

A police report, sighted by Press1News, said the suspects were nabbed as part of police strategy to clamp down on narcotics sale and usage.

“They were apprehended with quantities of dried leaves and 59 wraps of substances all suspected to narcotic drugs”, the report disclosed.

“The operation was conducted in known ghettos at Akyeremade, Zongo, Daaho and Bosofour, which are noted for Wee peddling and smoking”.

The suspects, the police said “would be screened, profiled and those found culpable would be put before the court to face the law”.
