RICHARD OFORI Agyeman Boadi aka ‘Zuba’ has been confirmed as the Kumasi Mayor this morning, amid wild jubilations.
He secured 55 out of the 56 total ballots in a ‘Yes or No’ polls, representing 98.2 percent, to be confirmed as the KMA Chief Executive.
One person, however, voted No but it was insignificant as Zuba was able to secure more than two-thirds of the total votes to become Kumasi Mayor.
In his acceptance speech, Zuba commended President John Mahama for the honour done to him, promising to deliver as mayor.
He also thanked the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for accepting him as Kumasi Mayor, reiterating that he will work to perfection.
Zuba, who was filled with emotions, expressed his appreciation to the Ashanti Regional NDC for standing firmly behind him.
He promised to serve Kumasi with humility, and appealed to all-and-sundry to support him to deliver, saying “I can’t do it alone”.
According to him, he will work to change the face of Kumasi, stating that his doors will always be opened for constructive criticisms.
Zuba, as a reminder, worked to perfection when he served as the Chief Executive of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly some years ago.
