Y-Pee, Mass Mello And Others To Feature At MTN Sponsored Ashanti Konnect Music Concert

Musicians and musical groups such as Y-Pee, Mass Mello, Bosoma, Seven Kiss and Allo Dancers would take turns to entertain residents and participants that would throng the Rattray Park on Saturday for the scheduled musical concert.

The concert which forms part of the ongoing Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council’s (ARCC) Ashanti Festival is expected to create more excitement for residents during the Easter holidays.

MTN Ghana having sponsored such events previously at every Easter with what it calls “MTN Stands In Worship” which featured Gospel musicians would this time around extend same to these secular artists.

Meanwhile, the selected artists are to perform at high levels having been carefully chosen by MTN in collaboration with the ARCC.

With records of their earlier highly energetic movements and dance styles as well as their individual exciting art works, these hiplife and highlife groups are expected to bring joy to patrons of the music concert.

At the time of filing this report, the Raytray Park, the venue to host the musical concert was being arranged to give revellers and potential patrons the atmosphere to enjoy themselves.

Seats were being arranged at their respective stands with other musical gadgets being fixed at the site.

Background:

The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) at the assumption of office of the new regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene decided to use the month of April to celebrate Asante culture.

Subsequently the ARCC led by the Regional Minister designed a month long programme to celebrate the culture, heritage sites, foods, dances and sporting events of the people of Ashanti.

With nearly two weeks more to end the month of April, which incidentally is the month used to celebrate Easter, the ARCC has put up programs such as the upcoming musical concert and visits to recreational centres across the region.

Most youths in Ashanti have been fascinated by the activities including the football gala, boxing and other previous events and have since showed interest by partcipating in same.
