The Vice President also emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting higher education and urged graduates to prioritize service to their country.

The Chancellor of KNUST, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, appealed to the government to grant immediate financial clearance to recruit additional academic and administrative staff, citing the current lecturer-student ratio as a threat to academic quality.

The Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, in her address, urged graduates to remain committed to excellence and become agents of positive change in society.

She reminded graduates of their potential to positively impact the world and urged them to leverage their abilities to make a difference.

She highlighted the university’s mission to empower students to be architects of change, lead with integrity, and innovate with purpose while serving with compassion.

During the ceremony, Professor Opoku-Agyemang commissioned key facilities, including a modern analytical laboratory, a gift shop, Kings Square, and a water bottling plant, aimed at enhancing KNUST’s academic and entrepreneurial ecosystem.

These investments, undoubtedly, underscore the collective commitment to fostering research, innovation, and enterprise development at the premier university in the King’s region.

The occasion was graced by the Asantehene and the Vice President, as well as the Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, and some prominent alumni of the school.
