Blessed Owusu, a teenage athletics sensation, adjudged Overall Best Athlete in the recent Ashanti Region Inter-Schools Super Zonal Competition, has presented his laurels to Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi.

The sprinting prodigy, who set the Baba Yara Sports Stadium agog whenever he took to his heels in the competition, is a form one student of St. Hubert’s Seminary Senior High School (SUHUSS).

He crowned his effort by winning the 100m, 200m, and 400m finals and was decorated as the competition’s best athlete.

The new 400m record holder, with a time of 46.21 seconds, was joined by school authorities, trainers, and fellow sportsmen. The talented boy presented his trophy and medals to the Mayor on Monday, March 2, 2026.

The Mayor rewarded the teenage super sprinter and colleague, Anthony Asare, first runner-up in Pole vault finals, with an undisclosed amount, advising them to be disciplined and train harder to rise to stardom.

He emphasised that with dedication, focus, and purpose, they will climb higher heights and cash in on their toil.

Mr. Eric Kyei, the Headmaster, thanked the Mayor for warmth reception, gift, and appealed for a fit-for-purpose school field to nurture talents in the school.
