South Africa’s globally reputable television channel, SuperSport, is billed to telecast the Kotoko SC and Kaiser Chiefs Toyota Cup match live on Saturday.
The international pre-season cup will kick off at 13:00 GMT at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Stakes are high as both sides are eager to lift the trophy.
The visitors, Kotoko, arrived at Johannesburg airport early Wednesday, en route to Durban to rest. They are expected to resume full training ahead of Saturday’s clash.
In 2001, the Porcupine Warriors lost the Vodafone Challenge Cup to the South African giants and are aiming to change the narrative this time around.
Reports from South Africa suggest that Kaiser Chiefs’ rivals, Orlando Pirates supporters, are gearing up to cheer Kotoko to victory on Saturday.
The hosts are equally eager to win and please their vociferous home supporters after failing to win the maiden edition of the Toyota Cup, when they lost to Young Africans of Tanzania 4-1 last year.
