Last minute penalty perfectly executed by skipper Gilbani Samba O’niel ensured Asante Kotoko SC maximum points when they beat Young Apostles 2-1 at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday, November 19.
Kotoko opened scoring in the 51st minute through a thunderbolt from Hubert Gyau in their outstanding Week 6 Ghana Premier League fixture.
The Porcupines’ lead was short-lived, as the visitors equalised three minutes from time through Richmond Opoku’s header.
Young Apostles’ stunning mission to Kumasi hit the rocks when they conceded a late penalty, which was expertly converted by Kotoko’s dependable defender.
The Porcupines are currently 5th on the league table with 19 points, having one match in hand against Basake Holy Stars.
