Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC’s Congolese import, Gilbani Samba O’niel, has been announced as the new captain.
The ‘Rock of Gibraltar’ of Kotoko’s defence will be assisted by defenders Henry Ansu and Lord Amoah as first and second assistant captains, respectively.

Samba O’niel’s new role follows the exit of former captain Frederick Asare and assistant captain Justice Blay.
The Congolese player, who made an excellent debut in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League (GPL), was awarded the Overall Best Kotoko Player Award by Circle 008 in China, gifted with a trophy and an undisclosed cash prize.
He is expected to combine his experience and leadership to propel the club to greater heights.
